What are collaborative robots?

Universal Robots, a manufacturer of collaborative robots, was founded in 2005 in Denmark. The idea for its founding emerged at the University of Southern Denmark, when three of its graduates wanted to create an alternative to traditional industrial robots. And so the cobot was born – a robot capable of working side by side with humans without endangering their safety. It is distinguished by its rounded housing design and built-in safety system based on an advanced sensor array. Software-based Safety functions provide additional protection against potential hazards (collisions). Universal Robots also dedicates its solution to small and medium-sized enterprises that previously could not afford fast, easy, and affordable workstation automation.

Cobots from the Danish manufacturer boast a reach radius of up to 1750 mm, a payload capacity of up to 35 kg, and repeatability of even +/-0.05 mm. Six degrees of freedom, flexibility, ease of operation, and simplicity of integration into existing production environments – all of this makes Universal Robots designed to collaborate with people.

For over 25 years we have been running a training center, and since 2017 we have been an Authorized Universal Robots Training Center.
