Sieci LPWAN zostały stworzone z myślą o aplikacjach M2M (Machine-to-Machine) oraz IoT (Internet of Things). W porównaniu do tradycyjnych sieci WiFi cechują się one niższym kosztem aplikacji i większą energooszczędnością. Zapewniają szersze pokrycie terenu (nawet do 5 kilometrów) i są bardziej odporne na zakłócenia. Ponad to, wyróżnikiem WISE-4210 jest samodzielna, kilkuletnia praca na zasilaniu bateryjnym. Dzięki temu możemy stosować je w dowolnym miejscu, bez stosowania kłopotliwej infrastruktury zasilającej. Nowością w tej serii jest możliwość dołączania jednego z trzech modułów rozszerzeń I/O WISE-S250, WISE-S251 i WISE-S214 do jednostki bazowej WISE-4210-NA. Daje nam to dużą wszechstronność i możliwość zamiany różnego rodzaju wejść z cyfrowych na analogowe, bez konieczności zakupu nowego urządzenia.
