ICR-1745

Advantech ICR-1745-EU is an industrial cellular router 5G NR designed to realize fast, secure and reliable communication in M2M and IoT applications. The device supports 5G Sub-6 GHz networks in accordance with 3GPP Release 17, operating in both NSA and SA modes, making it possible to build modern low-latency, high-throughput communication systems. The router offers transmission up to 4.67 Gbps downlink and 1.25 Gbps uplink in 5G SA mode, and additionally also supports LTE Cat.20/Cat.18 and UMTS, providing deployment flexibility in a variety of network environments.

The device features 5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, 2 Micro SIM slots or a variant with SIM + eSIM, as well as a set of industrial interfaces including 1× RS232, 1× RS485, 1× DI and 1× DO on the terminal block connector. Additionally, the router features USB 2.0 and integrated GNSS with support for GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo and QZSS. The ICR-1745W-EU version extends functionality with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) 2x2, operating in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, with support for up to 32 clients. This combination of interfaces means that the device can act as a central communications hub for automation, energy, monitoring, urban infrastructure and mobile applications.

ICR-1745-EU operates under the control of ICR-OS, a Linux-based platform that enables the development of custom applications in Open Linux, BASH and C/C++ environments. The router supports a wide range of networking features, including DHCP, NAT/PAT, VRRP, PPPoE, SNMP, SMTP, Dynamic DNS, DNS proxy, VLAN, QoS, NTP client/server, load balancing, backup routes, port forwarding, host port routing, Ethernet bridging and IPv6 dual stack. Additionally, support for industrial and IoT features such as Modbus TCP2RTU and Modbus to MQTT is possible, facilitating integration with automation devices and cloud platforms.

In terms of communication security, the device offers HTTPS, SSH, SFTP, DMZ, firewall with IP, MAC and port filtering, as well as extensive VPN tunneling mechanisms: WireGuard, OpenVPN, IPsec with IKEv1/IKEv2, GRE, L2TP and PPTP. Also supported are RADIUS, TACACS+ and 2FA, and supported cryptographic algorithms include AES, RSA, SHA, 3DES and DES. The router enables automatic firmware updates locally and remotely, cellular module OTA updates, diagnostics via SSH, detailed logging and the use of Event Engine to build custom event response rules. Remote deployment, provisioning and monitoring can be performed from WebAccess/DMP.

Mechanically and environmentally, the ICR-1745-EU is designed to operate in demanding industrial environments. The unit supports 9-48 VDC, operates at from -40 to +75°C without Wi-Fi and from -30 to +75°C with Wi-Fi, has a metal housing with an aluminium heatsink, a protection class of IP30 and can be wall-mounted and optionally DIN-rail mounted.
